The General Academic Tutoring Center

Our mission is to help undergraduate Pacific students become independent, self-confident, and efficient learners to succeed in college. We assist Pacific undergrad students in successfully meeting the academic standards of the University, as well as their own educational and personal goals through on-going tutoring support.

The GATC's tutors are sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students who have succeeded academically in the class they are tutoring or have been recommended by their professors. The GATC offers free tutoring in a variety of subjects to currently enrolled students at Pacific's Stockton campus (as resources and tutor availability permit).

The Student Writing Centers

Writing can be a stressful task, but the student writing centers serve Pacific's community as a free resource where students can receive help developing their writing. There are two student writing centers at University of the Pacific: the Student Writing Center is located at the Stockton campus and supports both undergraduate and graduate students, and the Graduate Writing Center is located at the Sacramento campus and supports graduate students. We assist with any kind of writing project at any stage of the process. Our trained undergraduate writing mentors, graduate writing mentors, and professional staff members offer personalized insights and advice during one-on-one writing consultations. Sessions are free of charge and typically last 30 to 60 minutes. We offer a unique opportunity to talk about your writing in a friendly, no-pressure environment.
